What this site is

This is the website of Velvet Hippo Customs, a husband-and-wife-owned laser engraving and cutting business in North Carolina. It shows the kinds of pieces we make and lets you send us a request for one.

A request is not an order

Sending the form asks us about a piece; it does not buy one, and nothing is charged through this site. We reply by email. For a custom piece we send a proof and a timeline, and payment is taken only after you approve the proof and accept the timeline, as described under “What happens first” on our home page.

Pictures on this site

Where an item shows a drawing, the drawing stands in for a photograph and shows only the kind of item. Handmade and engraved pieces vary, and your proof shows what yours will look like.

What you send us

If you send artwork, a photo, a logo or words to engrave, you confirm you have the right to use them for your piece. We use what you send only to quote, proof and make it.

Our words and pictures

The designs, photographs and words on this site belong to Velvet Hippo Customs unless they came from you.
